Program Outreach bagi Sekolah Rendah adalah sebagai langkah menyahut seruan titah Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia semasa Majlis Ilmu pada 2011 yang menekankan pentingnya budaya membaca dan ilmu kepada masyarakat Brunei.

Baginda juga menyeru para guru membuat extra mile bagi menyampaikan dan menyebarkan ilmu-ilmu yang bermanfaat kepada masyarakat dan komuniti sekolah dengan misi “Menuju Masyarakat Berilmu”.

Sekolah Rendah Pg Setia Jaya Pg Abdul Momin telah menyediankan beberapa rangkaian program untuk mencapai objektif ini. Program Outreach ini menlibatkan pelbagai aktiviti-aktiviti yang berunsur ilmu.

Program Outreach ini akan dilaksanakan sepanjang tahun 2012 bermula pada bulan Mac hingga tertakluk kepada perubahan kesesuaian masa, tempat dan keadaan.

Hundreds join National Day Run

A winner receives a prize

Some 584 people from all walks of life participated in a National Day Run 2012 in the Belait District organised by the Youth and Sports Department in celebration of Brunei's 28th National Day.

Joining the run was Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Haji Othman.

The run was divided into seven categories namely for ages 18 and above (male and female), 17 years and below (male and female), special persons category and fun run category.

At the event, Awg Khairul Anuar bin Ramli won the ages 18 and above male category and walked away with $400 cash and a medal while the winner in the female category was Judy Leslie who won $400 cash prize and a medal.

The participants in both categories ran at a total distance of 10 kilometres in Seria.

For 17 years old and below category, the winner in the male category was Lim Wei Kuang while Dk Nurul Aiwa Pg Hj Zainal was announced as the winner of the female category. Both winners walked away with $200 cash prize each and a medal.

Winning $500 cash was the Ikut Liur group that won the open group category while in the category for special persons from various bodies in Belait District, Awg Mohammad Nurarif Nassaruddin and Hjh Nor Kamaliah Abdullah won the Hearing and Intellectual Disabilities sub-category.

Belait District Officer Awg Haji Haris bin Haji Othman presented the medals and cash prizes.

Besides commemorating the National Day, the mass National Day run at Pusat Insani building in Seria was held to foster closer ties among the younger generation in Brunei and promote a healthy lifestyle among the communities in the country.
