After 2 months of selecting and training the students for the Inforama competition, it has come to an end on last Saturday, 31st July 2010 in Sekolah Menengah Masin.

Congratulations Zul Hazmi, Aqilah and Shifa for winning the second place in the competition. It was not an easy job as we’re competiting against all other schools in Brunei including both government and private. The school is very proud of you all.

R.E.A.D acronym stands for

R > Reading
E > Empowers
A > Academic
D > Development

Due to the reasons that the results for the first term examination wasn’t ideal and also, most of SPN21 syllabuses is in English, R.E.A.D Programme was introduced to enhance students’ learning.

It was launched on 1st April 2010 with a budget of B$ 300.00 and another allocation of B$ 700 ~ $ 1,000 for prizes in the future. It is carried out 30 minutes a week on either Saturday or any selected days and during English periods.

To date, R.E.A.D programme has shown significant result in terms of students’ result during the Mid-Term examination and our school will continue in implementing, evaluate and amend if necessary.

Mission :
Prepare 60% of students to be fluent in English speaking and writing at grade level.

Goals :

1.Able to improve and widen their vocabulary.

Tasks

1.During recess time, pupils are encouraged to go to the school library and read at least 1 book or article.
2.All classrooms should have reading corner with varieties of reading articles.
3.Every school term, the school will organise a “Spelling Bee” competition.
4.Pupils need to write new words inside their ‘Vocalist Log Books’, find the meaning of the words and write simple sentences using the words.
5.Encourage parents to bring their kids to public library on Sunday or during school holidays.

2.Able to stimulate thinking and improve communication skills.

Tasks

1.Every Saturday morning, selected pupils will be asked to present their stories in front of other students.
2.Every week, every class should have 1 period allocated for reading, speaking and writing session.
3.Encourage pupils to speak English with their friends.
4.During Break time, selected students will become the Deejay (PSJ on Air)

3.Able to write creatively with the use of proper grammar.

Tasks

1.Students are given creative writing books (Homelink) to be done at home with parents assistance. This is done twice a week.
2.School will organise “Creative Essay Writing” during “English Months” (every term).

A fire drill is a method of practicing the evacuation of a building for a fire or other emergency. Generally, the emergency system (usually an alarm) is activated and the building is evacuated as though a real fire had occurred. Usually, the time it takes to evacuate is measured to ensure that it occurs within a reasonable length of time.

Bagi Memperingati Hari Keputeraan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam ke-64 Tahun

A total of 18 students (selected prefects) along with 4 teachers of Pg Setia Jaya Pg Abdul Momin Primary School went to ICC in Berakas for the public exhibition dated from 26th July till 1st August 2010.

Twenty male students participated in the call for dawn prayer or 'Azan Suboh' competition, while another 25 female contestants took part in the 'Menghafaz Ayat-ayat Lazim' or memorising of Quranic verses competition for primary schools in the Belait District.

The competition took place at the multi-purpose hall of Sungai Tali Primary School in Kampong Lumut II.

For the 'Azan Suboh' competition, Awg Md Nabil Faiz bin Haji Md Naim from Sekolah Rendah Sungai Liang came first while Awg Md Fauzul Ikram bin Haji Hassan from St Margaret's School in Seria and Awg Tajjul Hakim bin Haji Masri from Sekolah Rendah Paduka Seri Begawan SOAS came second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, for the 'Menghafaz Ayat-Ayat Lazim' contest, first place went to Dyg Hafizah binte Mohammad from Sekolah Rendah PSJ Pg Abdul Momin Kampong Pandan, followed by Dyg Hidayah Tul Fitri binte Haji Masri from Sekolah Rendah Merangking and Dyg Nurul Izzan binte Alipudin from St Margaret's School.

The guest of honour was Hajah Hawa binte Haji Mahmud, Inspectorate Head of Islamic Studies Department.

The contest is held annually and is aimed at raising the standard of Quranic recitation ability whilst cultivating interest among young children.

Our student, Hafizah Binti Mohammad not only excel in netball (she played the position of Goal Attack in the school team), but had recently won the first place for the “Menghafaz Ayat-Ayat Lazim” contest held in Sungai Tali Primary School.

We’re very proud of you Hafizah.
